Adventist Health receives $10 million to expand cancer services

Nov 15, 2022

We are dreaming bigger when it comes to cancer care in Kern County. This next exciting chapter for the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center will greatly impact lives. The 2022-23 State Budget passed in June and thanks to Assembly member Rudy Salas the Central Valley will be getting $240 million, which includes $10 million for the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center.

We are incredibly thankful to Assemblymember Rudy Salas for spearheading this initiative at the state level. This $10 million is the first step as we work to move forward to expand our cancer services in Kern County. Ten years ago, we opened the doors of the AIS Cancer Center to provide award-winning care to people in our community. Over the last decade, we have treated more than 50,000 people in Kern County and we know there is more work to be done to continue to provide comprehensive cancer care in Kern County.
