A million-dollar gift creates important connection at Adventist Health Tehachapi

Mar 17, 2025

Healing should never be hindered by barriers, especially not by the weather. Thanks to a generous $1 million gift to the Tehachapi Valley Foundation, an essential piece of patient care will now be connected.

The Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District will fund the construction of an enclosed walkway to the Cyr Family Imaging Pavillion, a crucial enhancement that will protect patients, caregivers and staff as they move between facilities. No longer will unpredictable weather pose a risk to those in vulnerable moments. Instead, this enclosed passage will ensure every journey, whether for urgent imaging, treatment or recovery connects to uninterrupted care.

More than an architectural addition, this walkway is a statement affirming that safety is not seasonal, that access to care should never be compromised, and that our community is dedicated to raising the standard for healthcare. It is a testament to the power of generosity and vision, demonstrating that every patient’s comfort and well-being matter deeply.

“The Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District is overjoyed to be able to present a $1 million grant to Adventist Health Tehachapi for the building of this protective walkway,” said Peggy Mendiburu, CEO of Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District. “It has been a long time coming, and we are very happy to partner with Adventist Health in seeing this project to fruition.”

We are deeply grateful to the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District for their generous investment.
